A Little More Purpose Than Paper

Most of you know that we have this little business to help others as well as earn a little $$ on the side. Well I LOVE reading this blog called Kisses For Katie and all she does for the Lord in Uganda (I know lots of you know this blog already- and if you don't, set aside a few hours of time to read about her work and your life will be changed!). I was reading her most recent post tonight and I knew that I was supposed to share this all with you! The post describes this group of women living in desperate poverty, who instead of sending their children to beg or digging through the trash, are now making necklaces and selling them to provide for their families. What a picture of the body of Christ, not only sharing the Lord with these women, but teaching them a trade to lift their families out of desperation.
"He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor!" 1 Samuel 2:8
I just couldn't think of a better Mother's Day gift than to purchase these necklaces at a mere $18 at 147millionorphans.com and help feed children in Uganda and support these beautiful women doing God's work in an amazing way. For a much better description of these women and the Ugandan Magazine Beads, read here.
